putting people and planet first

We’re proud to have taken 111 (and counting) of our products through COSMOS organic certification, but our COSMOS certification and the impact that has on biodiversity isn’t all that we do to protect people and planet.

Did you know that we prevent 41,000 kilos of plastic from entering the world’s oceans every year?
We’re proud to use 100% recycled ocean-bound plastic sourced from rivers and coastlines for all of our shampoo, conditioner and body wash packaging, and collectively this move helps us make a world of difference to the ocean environment.

We’re committed to making a difference on the land too. In 2023, we planted 24,500 trees worldwide through partnerships with Ecologi and Lignaverda.
In February 2023, out team took part in a Move for Planet Action Challenge in partnership with Lignaverda, which saw Dr. Organic Ltd fund the planting of 16,500 trees in the Great Green Wall, stretching across sub-Saharan Africa.
For every km walked, run, cycled or swam by the Dr. Organic Ltd team throughout February, Lignaverda planted trees, resulting in 16,500 trees planted by the end of the month.
Our CEO also participated in the Lignaverda cycling challenge, cycling hundreds of miles through Namibia to plant trees and raise awareness of the impact of climate change in the region.
Our headquarters in Swansea, South Wales are powered by a 1,500 solar panel-strong array – enough to power 160 homes, generating 584,306kWh electricity and saving a projected 123,260kg of CO2 every year, with excess energy feeding into the National Grid.
It’s also important to us that we give back and support our local community, and in 2023, we donated 58,000 products to local and international charities as part of our commitment to people.

During 2023 we had the opportunity to support our local MP Carolyn Harris with product donations to Tŷ Olwen which provides expert palliative care, the Renal Unit at Morriston Hospital, which supports those with kidney disease and other related conditions and Blaen-y-Maes drop-in centre.
Blaen-y-Maes provides individuals and families in the Swansea community with support such as free access to the internet and phone calls; food share; cuppa and chat; workshops and clothing.

As part of our wider commitment to the international community, we donated 4,000 tubes of toothpaste to Ukraine in 2023. This donation greatly benefited those who have been displaced by the war and are struggling to meet basic needs.
